This toner cartridge is easy to insert and remove, and the print it produces is sharp and dark and doesn't smudge. The real problem lies with the voracious appetite for toner of the Lexmark printer. At the default settings the cartridge gets used up in less than the advertised maximum 3500 pages -- not good if you regularly print a lot.
However, you can ameliorate this problem by adjusting the settings. In Printer Preferences click on Print Quality, there click on Custom, and then slide the indicator arrow from 10 to at least 5, which in my experience provides a good sharp dark print. The quality will be acceptable for drafts even at 3.
Returning the cartridge is made very easy. Do it!

When the printer's toner runs low, the panel light comes on, but the printer continues to print. You can pull the cartridge out and shake it to get more prints out of it until it gets so weak that you can't take it anymore. Then put in the new cartridge. Hooray!
I've had printers that just refused to print with a near-empty cartridge. I hate that! The Lexmark is superior in this regard.
Also, the UPS label for return is a great idea. I just give the box to the UPS guy next time he comes around. No more waiting for "electronic recycling day".
